Sunday Rituals: Setting Goals
Setting goals helps us create the path for growth. Whether you are focusing on short-term or long-term goals, starting with small, manageable tasks that you can easily complete will help boost your confidence and create motivation to keep going.
- Pick one goal to work towards this week (ex: work out for 1 hour, 3 times this week).
- Write it down. Put in on your calendar, planner, or set an alarm on your phone. You have now allotted time for you to accomplish your goal.
- Tell someone. Tell a friend, spouse, coworker, workout buddy. Telling someone we know about our goal increases the likelihood that you will hold yourself accountable.
- Break your goal down into tasks. (ex: layout workout clothes and shoes, get playlist ready, prep pre- and post workout snacks)
After that, it's a cakewalk!
Pat yourself on the back AND keep going! Repeating these steps every day for 3 weeks will turn it into a habit.
Tackling small goals one at a time makes it more likely that they will integrate easily into a new, healthy lifestyle. You can do it! Good luck!
