Sunday Rituals: Setting Goals

Setting goals helps us create the path for growth. Whether you are focusing on short-term or long-term goals, starting with small, manageable tasks that you can easily complete will help boost your confidence and create motivation to keep going.

  1. Pick one goal to work towards this week (ex: work out for 1 hour, 3 times this week).
  2. Write it down. Put in on your calendar, planner, or set an alarm on your phone. You have now allotted time for you to accomplish your goal.
  3. Tell someone. Tell a friend, spouse, coworker, workout buddy. Telling someone we know about our goal increases the likelihood that you will hold yourself accountable.
  4. Break your goal down into tasks. (ex: layout workout clothes and shoes, get playlist ready, prep pre- and post workout snacks)
  5. GO!

After that, it's a cakewalk!

Pat yourself on the back AND keep going! Repeating these steps every day for 3 weeks will turn it into a habit.

Tackling small goals one at a time makes it more likely that they will integrate easily into a new, healthy lifestyle. You can do it! Good luck!
